Abstract :
A conceptual solar race car, especially its powertrain is designed according to the World Solar Challenge (WSC) rules. Then its speed control strategy is studied out. Finally, the speed control stratege of this solar car is simulated in Matlab. Several comparing results show that, using the parameters matching results and speed control strategy, it cannot only finish the race under various conditions, but also can travel at a proper speed, which consumes the least energy and spends least time. The optimal driving speed is confirmed.
