Currently, in concept design of warship, it generally takes separately analysis and identification on overall effectiveness, risk analysis, and acquisition cost, there was not a systemic, entire, quantificating assessment hierarchy yet . It is harmful for developing the warship which is a facility of high cost, high technology requirement, and high risk. Therefore, it is quite necessary to build a multidisciplinary optimization software system which makes the three parts in considered, to make more accurate and scientific quantification analysis be available. In this article, around scheme exploration of ship concept design phase, it illustrates whole procedure of using the MDO theory to warship concept design, and it gave an analysis of the optimization result of DDG51. What the article did will provide a new mentality for warship´s concept exploration and scheme selection, and be available for more scientific and reasonable in warship concept design.
