Abstract :
The development of a Smart Charging Controller (SCC) for dynamic charging of Electrical Vehicles (EVs) is described in this paper. The controller makes it possible to charge electric cars with the fluctuating power generated by photovoltaic panels. This way, a house owner can utilize their own produced energy locally. When solar power is not enough, the controller dynamically regulates the charging power on the basis of what capacity is available on the grid connection. The flowchart of the controller software is given here along with the reaction time of different electric cars we measured in the lab.
