Abstract
Summary form only given. We report on systematic studies of the magnetoresistance (MR) anisotropy of the layered organic superconductor /spl chi/-(BEDT-TTF)/sub 2/Cu(NCS)/sub 2/ and its dependence on quasi-hydrostatic pressure. Prominent oscillations of the interplane MR are found under magnetic field rotating in various planes perpendicular to the 2D bc-plane. The oscillations are reminiscent of the angular MR oscillations observed earlier in other quasi-2D organic metals. However, in the present case, they demonstrate somewhat more complicated behavior which is most likely due to the specifics of the multiply connected Fermi surface. At high angles between the field direction and the normal to the be-plane the oscillations are masked by the superconducting transition and angle dependent negative MR contribution which can be suppressed by applying sufficient pressure.
