Abstract :
This paper deals with the mitigation of low order harmonics and improvement in power factor of the supply current and poor power quality in load side due to the non linear load and inductive load. One of the most popular reference current extractions for the active filter is synchronous reference frame. Harmonics compensation is possible with this method but the reactive power compensation is poor due to its transformation principle. The proposed method for both harmonic compensation and reactive power compensation is the average direct and quadrature axis frame (Average dq frame) extracts fundamental magnitude of the line current. The results are validated through MATLAB Simulink - Xilinx system generator.
