Abstract
The implementation of high frequency measurements on magnetic coils is a field of activity with numerous difficulties and requirements in order to get reliable experimental results. One main problem to be solved is the achievement of the proper exciting conditions, which often means the creation of a clearly sinusoidal voltage waveform, while a second one is the ensuring that all measurement error factors are properly taken into account. At this paper a current fed sine wave converter for the voltage excitation of magnetic coils is thoroughly analyzed and the high frequency measurement error factors are discussed. Guidelines are given for the determination of the actual hysteresis loss when there is a measuring phase error and for the temperature correction to the winding effective resistance at high frequencies.
