Abstract :
Passenger vehicles are meant to be locked by the driver or it is autonomously overridden to ensure the safety of the passenger in the vehicle´s movement. The safety is the main concern for the occupant. Autonomous door locking system works on the basis of the inputs from the vehicle´s state of movement and the driver´s input. The nature of occupant within the vehicle is not valued, but the direct control is taken into account and the vehicle is locked from the interior. The existence of child occupancy within the vehicle is the constraint of the proposed system. The probability of neurotoxic levels is high within the locked vehicle due to the increase in temperature in parked conditions. The system aims at warning the driver intimating the occupancy status of the vehicle in both autonomous as well as driver imposed locking. Beyond the warning made, the system unlocks the doors if the cabin temperature exceeds 40°C.
