Abstract :
In order to assess the autonomic nervous system cardiovascular control of rabbits, five time-frequency transforms were implemented and studied using LabVIEW graphical programming language and Matlab. The electrocardiogram and blood pressure signals were acquired and processed in order to evaluate the rabbit´s autonomic nervous system (RANS) through quantification of heart rate and blood pressure variability. As parts of the virtual system software for RANS characterization by short time Fourier transform (STFT), Choi- Williams (CW), Wigner Wille distributions (WVD), continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) analyzing blocks were designed and implemented. The CWT and DWT offer major advantages over STFT, CW and WVD
