Abstract
Using TM remote sensing image in 1988 and 2007, Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) was calculated, and then wetlands information of two years in the urban of Chengdu City was extracted by adjusting valve values. Analyzed wetland change and spatial variation based on above work. Research proved that urban expansion taking up a large number of wetlands is the main reason for the decrease of wetland resources. During the course of urbanization, we should strengthen the protection of wetland and much planning for wetland parks to improve the quality of city human settlements environment.
