  • Abstract
    Speedometer is a gauge that measures and displays the real-time speed of a vehicle. In this study, we investigated the observe pattern of driver for speedometer in different driving conditions through questionnaires and accident investigations. The questionnaire includes driver´s basic information, driving habits, characteristics of speed cognition. Then we conducted a correlation analysis between the factors and driver´s speed cognition pattern. Among all the factors, examined in previous studies, gender factor, diving year factor and eyesight factor of driver are selected emphatically. Then we analyzed drivers´ observation on speedometer and cognition on the vehicle speed to provide a reference for in-depth analysis on traffic accidents and improvement of automotive display device.
