  • Abstract
A method of construction and implementation of an intelligent electrocardiogram tutoring package, EKG CHALLENGER, meant for use in medical schools to teach medical students, how to diagnose electrocardiograms, is presented. A rule-based expert system written in Prolog is a key feature of EKG CHALLENGER. It has the capability to diagnose 43 cardiac arrhythmias, which cover the entire spectrum of cardiac ailments encountered under emergency medical conditions. The expert system is used to verify the diagnosis of the user. It can also be used as a stand-alone unit, either as a learning tool or as for performing a preliminary diagnosis
