Abstract :
The general trend of wireless wideband transceivers points to continuing reduction of radio frequency processing at the expense of increased digital signal processing making the move towards software defined radio (SDR). The SDR concept enables the necessary flexibility for existing and next generation wireless systems. The development of cost efficient data converters and digital IF signal processors is called upon to play a crucial role in the concept of software radio transceivers. This paper presents a view and a solution for flexible software radio base station architectures for major digital wireless standards
