  • Abstract
According to measure relevant parameters of the 3D models of normal human knee, standard 3D knee model and geometry dimension database were established. Firstly, Computed Tomography (CT for short) was carried out in 110 healthy volunteers in a hospital in Tianjin. Secondly, using the reverse engineering software MIMICS, the CT images of knee joint were processed and 3D model was reconstructed. Then, relevant parameters of the 3D knee model were measured. Finally, all the data measured was used for statistical analysis by using SPSS 12.0 and geometry dimension database of knee joint which meets the Chinese standard was established correspondingly. In this way, knee complex shape reappears completely. 3D model of human knee joint and standard geometry dimensions database have high authenticity and accuracy. It is also important to design knee prostheses which consistent with the anatomical characteristics of the Chinese.
