Abstract
In this paper, the design and implementation of a high performance real-time power quality measuring instrument based on digital signal processor is discussed. The system is realized according with the latest standards about power quality monitoring and it can be reconfigured for future standard developments. The instrument is properly configured to operate in stand alone mode and it is interfaced with a hardware module to implement TCP/IP communication protocol. The main advantage of realized device is possibility to perform the whole power quality analysis with only one low-cost instrument. Finally the paper reports some preliminary experimental results of the implemented instrument prototype
