Abstract :
In this paper, a PIFA design that operates at 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN and Satellite Communication bands is proposed and studied. To excite a triple resonant mode that satisfy all the three WLAN bands, a simple technique of truncating one corner of the top radiating element and inserting an open-ended slot are introduced to the traditional PIFA. To further induce the Satellite Communication operating bands, the folding technique is hereby introduced, and instead of having an open-ended folding element , here, the folded element is connected to the feeding port. Details of the antenna designs and experimental results are presented and discussed.
