Abstract :
Yangtze River Waterway as an important support for economic development has been gradually taken into account by the State Central Committee. Indirect production of Yangtze River waterway not only affects the costs and profits of direct production sector, but also creates opportunities for other industries and produces huge external positive effect for basin economy. This paper applies datum of waterway construction investment from 1991 to 2008, uses impulse response function to analyze the relationship between waterway construction investment and basin economy, and reached the conclusions that Yangtze River Waterway construction and basin economic growth have strong interaction.
