Abstract :
In this paper the results of computational modeling of the antenna array with a wide beam steering and the experimental investigations of the individual radiator characteristics are presented. The characteristics of the compact radiator prototype as the open-ended waveguide with a dielectric insertion comprising a special exciting pin are analyzed. The novel radiator has the wide beamwidth and the frequency band around 21%. Following the computational modeling the characteristics of antenna array for scan angles up to 50deg are discussed.
