Abstract :
This study explores the user experiences of the Chinese travel apps which are widely being used in China, with the aim to identify the potential issues of the existing travel apps, further to enhance the performance qualities of such travel apps. Research findings include a checklist of criteria for assessing the travel apps based on the user requirements and satisfactions. The major requirements such as information customization, value-added information, and practical itinerary planning and balanced graphical and textual representations for the travel apps, from the perspectives of the Chinese travelers, have been highlighted in this paper. As an important outcome of this research work, the anticipated improvements for the travel apps have also been suggested to travel app developers for enhancing the ongoing development of travel apps.
