Abstract :
This paper introduces newly developed hardware components and configuration aspects for a MPEG-4 video-compressing system based on PCI architectures. Video surveillance is a kind of important tools in bank and road monitoring nowadays. However, the data collected and processed by video monitor are huge, which limit the applications of video surveillance. The only way to solve this problem is compression. According to current technologies, we design a MPEG-4 PCl audio/video capture card, which supports Dl format.
