  • Abstract
Until now, a specific bottleneck in smart card technology is the bandwidth limitation induced by the ISO 7816 standards, forbidding to use smart cards as fast communication devices for delivering security services required by new consumer electronics applications. The "full speed enabled\´\´ smart-card platform presented here removes this limitation and is intended to provide smart-cards with all features making them "full-fledge" secure computers. This opens new cases in consumer electronics such as SIM-based CA/DRM(conditional access/digital rights management) for mobile pay-TV or home-network applications.
