Abstract
The paper presents a simulation study of a space vector modulation inverter that supplies an alternating current motor drive with low switching losses. A new technique of the reduced number of switchings within the modulating interval is proposed. Simulation results are based on the theoretical explanation. The benefits of the new discontinuous space vector modulation algorithms upon the six-step and pulse-width control techniques are described.
