Abstract :
This paper introduces fixed-satellite service (FSS) earth stations and space research service (SRSscare) earth stations parameters in the 8 400-8 500MHz band. Then examines the interference from fixed-satellite earth stations to space research earth stations and calculates the required separation distances for protection of space research earth stations. For the protection of space research earth stations, this paper covers both the non-geostationary-satellite and geostationary-satellite systems using maximum equivalent isotropically radiated power spectral density values allowed per Radio Regulations. The result shows that required separation distances in the range from 686 km to 734 km around SRS deep-space earth stations would need to be established in order to meet the protection criteria of the SRS earth station.
