Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed versatile VoD (video on demand) system concentrated on managing the services in heterogeneous network and terminal. To deliver and consume the multimedia contents in heterogeneous network and terminal, we adopted MPEG-21 multimedia framework. The proposed system is organized into four components: education content server including authoring module to generate the form of digital item, contents player located on set-top box, content adaptation server and tool server. To verify the usefulness of the proposed system, experiments are performed with the educational video contents.
