Abstract :
We propose a design for a symmetric multi-output optical splitter which has a smooth transition between its input waveguide and its output waveguides. The design provides as many output waveguides as needed with no loss of the smooth transition. An example of this design having six output waveguides is provided and numerically investigated using the beam propagation method.
