Implementation of DIABCARE quality network

DIABCARE Q-Net is a European project founded by the EU Telematics Applications Programme. The implementation of the basic information sheet (BIS) for the evaluation of diabetes related data, containing a fixed data set, will assist the health care professional in structured data collection. Specifications for collection and transfer of data to the DIABCARE data software and transfer of information for evaluation purposes via a telematic communication channel is implemented. A methodology for data evaluation and the identification of performance gaps (quality circles) will be used to reduce those gaps, putting data entry and evaluation to its intended use, i.e. improvement of quality of care
