Abstract :
Wireless ATM is an emerging network technology that combines the capabilities of ATM with user mobility and undeterred access. Therefore, call admission control is a crucial function in mobile networks. It assists users to move and communicate freely beyond the limits of a specific wireless area, without losing their established connection and at the same time it decides whether an incoming call should-be admitted to network service. Different CAC schemes are proposed and serving users are classified into three categories according to their priority scheme. Our main scope is to design an efficient admission control providing users with the desired QoS. For that reason, a hybrid scheme between the handoff and new calls and the service priorities is proposed.
