Abstract
Summary form only given. Synthesizing BEDT-TTF salts with anions consisting of transition-metal complexes provides an opportunity of combining low-dimensional conductivity with the presence of localized magnetic moments due to d-electrons. The Royal Institution group has prepared and structurally characterized a variety of such compounds, ranging from simple tetra-halogeno-anions to oxyhalide and pseudohalide species, as well as more complex tris-oxalato-complexes. Interaction between the conduction electrons and localized momenta, lattice instabilities and magnetic ordering will be discussed.
