Abstract :
A gain model for Raman fibre amplifiers (RFA) with multiple pumps is proposed. The undepleted pump model for the RFA was customized to include the pump-to-pump interactions. With this approach we are able to accurately predict the amplifier gain without increasing the computational effort. Results show good agreement with numerical simulations and experimental measurements. This simplified model can be included in complex network planning tools.
