Abstract
A possibility to compare the quality of different insulation materials with respect to high-frequency voltage stress is to compare the partial discharge (PD) characteristics at high-frequency voltages (here at 100 kHz and 1 MHz). One indicator for the quality is the PD inception voltage (PDIV). Another one is the ´lifetime´ of the insulation stressed with PD at high-frequency voltage. In this paper measurements with different approaches on enamelled wire are described. The results and special characteristics of the tests are compared and discussed
