Abstract
Building on work done at the Halden Reactor Project and others, an intelligent alarm module (IAM) has been developed, specifically for cement and related processes, that integrates various alarm handling techniques and provides an effective way to validate and manage alarm signals. Being fully integrated with the conventional alarm system, the IAM toolbox makes it possible to focus on the areas where the conventional alarm system does not offer a satisfactory performance
