Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report studies to determine the molecular weight of poly(phenylenevinylene) (PPV) precursor polymers prepared by the sulfonium precursor route, and studies on the mechanism of termination. We report the synthesis of a /sup 13/C-labelled terminating group, and discuss NMR studies of the labelled, terminated polymer chains, and the correlation with the molecular weight values obtained by GPC.
