Abstract
In VANETs, it is difficult to establish a connection between two nodes, a V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) routing protocols is necessary. In this paper, we propose a bionic V2V routing scheme called Pheromone-Based Vehicle to Vehicle (PBV2V) Routing, which exploits the concept of pheromones. Each vehicle periodically exchanges its pheromone information with neighboring cars and updates its own pheromone table accordingly. Then, a packet can be forwarded from the source to the destination based on the pheromone density. We evaluated the connection rate and the average number of hops via simulations. The results demonstrate that PBV2V achieves a satisfactory performance.
