Abstract
In this work, the performance of an all-optical logic XOR gate based on quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier (QD-SOA) was assessed by simulation, and good results were obtained for signals at 40 Gbit/s. For a saturation bias current density, it is possible to determine more than one optimal operating point that does not penalize the output pulses. Similar results were determined for RZ and NRZ input signals.
