Abstract :
Summary form only given. Recently, a 3-position urethane-substituted polythiophene(P3UT) was synthesized in our laboratory. This new P3UT has a good compatibility with polyurethane(PU) to form a polyuredme-polythiophene elastomer material with good conductivity. In this paper, the correlation between the compositions and conductivity of P3UT-PU is investigated. The enhanced conductivity is observed for the P3UT-PU blend over a wide range of composition. The electrical properties of the both doped and undoped have been related to the chemical composition of the blend. The phase miscibility is investigated by DMA, DSC and electron spectroscopy. The surface morphology is studied by SEM, Auger electron spectroscopy and surface energy analysis. Preparation of electrically conductive fibers and films from P3UT and PU blend will be discussed.
