Abstract :
Currently, information appears on the business environment as an active creator of value and benefits [8]. The heavy use of computing resources to process and store the information has heightened the dependency of organizations regarding to their IT infrastructure. This becomes critical when we know that all systems have vulnerabilities that could jeopardize the entire business activity. So, despite the variety of security measures at our disposal, it is impossible to create a system that is 100% safe, because there is always a potential risk, even if residual. However, determining and managing this risk is not always a simple, quick and efficient process. This work presents a case study, as part a traineeship in business context under a master´s thesis, which had as purpose to study the process of risk management and analyze an innovative open-source software of security audit, called Babel Enterprise, which provides to this process a valuable contribution.
