Abstract :
One of the difficulties of electric machinery laboratory courses is demonstrating the physics and internal geometry of a motor, particularly while it is operating,, As a solution to this challenge this paper presents the development of an open-frame linear induction rotor that alms students to easily visualized the motor while in motion, vary parameters err the motor design to observe their effect on performance, and gain experience with a type of motor that is teen overlooked in introductory courses. The motor has interchangeable parts such that other motor topologies may be implemented
