Abstract :
For several reasons, the angle of attack(AOA) and the sideslip angle(SA) cannot be measured accurately especially when angle of attack is high. Multi data fusion technology is a valid method to solve that problem. In the full paper we describe in some detail ten modules of the AOA and SA calculation system, seven of these ten modules are separately described in the full paper; they are: module for receiving INS/GPS system data, body velocity and acceleration calculation module, aerodynamic calculation module, nonlinear aerodynamic calculation module, decomposition of nonlinear aerodynamic module, module for estimating velocity components due to gust, module for calculating AOA and SA. Three modules are only listed in the schematics diagram; they are: atmospheric data calculation module, module for calculating mass and center of gravity, module for calculating thrust of aircraft engine. Simulation results show preliminarily that: (1) the error in estimating angle of attack is less than 0.10, (2) the error in estimating sideslip angle is less than 0.20,(3) this method has good real-time capability and meets the actual engineering requests.
