Abstract :
This paper demonstrates for the first time the implementation of broadband soft metaliners for use in soft horns. Two real meta-liner designs were developed. Analysis of a Cband rectangular horn with a wire grid meta liner yielded broad-band performance. Measured patterns will be shown during the presentation of the paper. The second metaliner comprises a dielectric slab with a ground plane on one side and a synthesized metal pattern on the opposite side, and with a single via per unit cell. MoM analysis of a circular horn with this liner inside demonstrates that large bandwidth can be achieved.
