Abstract
This paper describes the well-being demonstrator in detail with a particular focus on design methodology, construction and deployment. This was developed to provide an advanced telecare system to demonstrate the concept of well-being monitoring activity data received from ambient sensors placed around the home. The latest results of ongoing trials are also presented. This work began in July 2004 and will continue until January 2006. The project partners include BT Research & Venturing, the University of Liverpool and Liverpool City Council, and the Next Wave Technologies & Markets (NWTM) program is sponsored by the DTI.
