Abstract
In this paper we will have an overview on Television and video streams, how they are generated, how they are transmitted over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. This technique, known as IPTV, requires fulfillment of Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, as well as Quality of Experience (QoE) parameters, to deliver an application-dependant quality video reception. We will mainly focus on the transmission over the access network Wimax, the "last mile hop" that delivers wirelessly the stream to the end-user.
