Abstract :
The remarkable evolution of the internet in terms of bandwidth and quality of service helped the development of new real time applications like voice conferences that needs, like any other application, the deployment of security services. This paper aims at extending a security protocol for a voice conference application while respecting the standards of group applications security model. First, we define voice security, its threats and the required security services needed for its deployment. After, and as the goal of the paper is to extend a security protocol for a voice group communication, we present this protocol named SVSP that define the security parameters necessary for the deployment of security mechanisms for unicast calls. We describe this protocol, its characteristics, the entities it involves, the security services it offers and the different scenarios it presents. Subsequently, and having chosen the security reference model for group communication defined by the IETF, we extend SVSP to support voice conferencing.
