  • Abstract
The jet-propulsion microengine has been developed based on porous silicon combustion process. This microengine includes a combustion chamber formed in macropores of a silicon substrate, nozzles based on pyramidal pits and nanoporous silicon impregnated by solid state oxidants as a fuel. The fabricated microengine has shown the mechanical impulse by 20-40% larger with respect to the similar one built without nozzles.
