Abstract
Summary form only given. We studied the effect of tetrachloroferrate anion on pyrrole electropolymerization (EP) and electrochemical properties of the polymer films. The introduction Et/sub 4/NfeCl/sub 4/ into electrolyte during synthesis of polypyrrole allows one to enhance the rate of EP and to diminish the oxidation potential for monomer EP. Even at high current density of 8 mA/cm/sup 2/ stable electroactive polymer films having high surface area were formed. In the films formed having with Et/sub 4/NfeCl/sub 4/ the reversibility of redox transitions was enhanced and corresponding peaks were two-seven times higher than in the films obtained without a catalyst. The catalytic effect of tetrachloroferrate anion was more pronounced in Et/sub 4/NclO/sub 4//CH/sub 3/CN electrolyte than that in NaClO/sub 4//CH/sub 3/CN, because in former the effect is not overshadowed by trace water.
