Abstract :
The paper analyses which function and API should a general particle system model have that can simulate many special effects in 3D real-time graphic environment. A general data structure of particle system that can be used in many kinds of 3D engine is designed. This general particle system model has been successfully used to simulate some special effects such as water beam, rain, snow etc. base on OpenGL.
