Abstract :
The second order original low-Reynolds-number turbulence model is presented for solution of applied and fundamental problems of heat and mass transfer in the complicated turbulent flows. Model transport equations are solved for the turbulent Reynolds shear stresses and the scalar fluxes, the turbulence kinetic energy and its integral scale, as well as the temperature variance and its dissipation rate. The model closure features with allowance for near-wall effects are noted. Numerical calculations are performed for the internal flows in the channels of constant and changing cross-sections. The model solutions are in reasonable agreement with measurements obtained by other authors.
