  • Abstract
    A monostatic polarimetric MIMO radar, configured with multiple transmit antennas and multiple polarization sensitive receive antennas is introduced. A novel ESPRIT-like algorithm is proposed to estimate the target´s angle and polarization, which exploiting the invariance property of both the virtual array resulted form matched filters and the polarization sensitive array. The proposed system has higher angle estimation accuracy than those of conventional MIMO radar and polarization sensitive array due to the combination of the advantages of MIMO radar and the advantages offered by polarization diversities. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
