Abstract :
Summary form only given. Several attempts to prepare ion sensors based on the ion-exchange properties of the conductive polymers have been made in recent years. In this study physico-chemical characteristics of Ppy films doped with some organic and inorganic ions, and their fuctioning as ion exchangers were investigated. The change of anion-cation participatioj ratio in polymer redox-process depending on the nature of used dopants and solvents was examined by voltametric, ellipsometric and ESR methods. The influence of the cation nature on the ion-exchange properties of the PPy films was established for both big and small dopant anione incorporated in PPy matrix. The dependence of PPy electrode potentiometric function on the film´s substrate material, doping anion, preceding electrochemical and conditioning treatment, and film thickness a characterized in this study. The whole potentiometric response signal can be divided into two parts, the fast one and the following long-time response. The fast potentiometric function was found to be independent of the redox state of the film, with poor selectivity and without prolonged stability.
