DER integration framework and projects in utility industry in north America and Europe

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is leading a five-year smart grid demonstration initiative to advance interoperability of DER. This presentation will provide a brief overview of a variety of large-scale projects nationally and internationally that are integrating DER discussing the challenges and opportunities that are surfacing in these projects. The methodology and resulting framework being implemented to integrate DER will be discussed along with the process to communicate to lessons learned and gaps that may require additional research to foster the advancement of these smart grid applications.
