  • Abstract
    Ce3+-substituted barium ferrite powder with chemical composition BaCexFe12-xO19 (where x= 0.2 and 0.8) have been synthesized by using sol-gel auto combustion. The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) patterns show that with the increase Ce3+ content, the lattice constants (a and c) increased. SEM images show the formation of hexagonal platelet like structure. Magnetic measurements show the increase in magnetic saturation (Ms) and remenant magnetization (Mr) to 56.68emu/g and 29.66emu/g respectively. The coercivity (Hc) decreased to 3357.26Oe with increase in compositions from x=0.2 to 0.8. The dielectric behavior of synthesized barium ferrite powders were measured by the vector network analyzer (VNA) for the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz) frequency range.
