Abstract :
The changes in human erythrocyte membrane under the influence of the weak magnetic field and low-level electromagnetic field have been studied by using fluorescent probes (derivatives of 2,5-diaryloxazole and oxadiazole) with a different location in a lipid membrane. It has been found that both the microwave radiation and the magnetic field may cause a decrease in membrane viscosity in the most hydrophobic regions of a lipid bilayer and in the center of bilayer and/or, more probably, may cause the an increase in hydration of the most polar surface regions of the membrane, while minor changes are observed in the area of carbonyl groups of phospholipids and adjacent methylene chains of phospholipids.
